Welcome to Kapiti Coast Archery Club
Channel your inner Robin Hood, Katniss, or Legolas! Founded in 1996, the Kapiti Coast Archery Club is a vibrant, welcoming community for archers of all skill levels.
What is Field Archery?
Unlike Olympic-style target archery, Field Archery takes you out into nature.
The Terrain: You’ll find yourself navigating beautiful, uneven ground—aiming uphill, downhill, between trees, and over streams.
The Targets: We use life-sized 3D rubber animal models, silhouettes, and traditional ringed targets. On special occasions, you might even try your hand at moving targets!
Every Sunday morning, we shoot a different, custom-designed course in groups of up to four. Think of it like golf—but far more satisfying in a primal kind of way.
Equipment & Experience
Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, there is a place for you here.
Bows: We welcome traditional wooden bows, classic modern recurves, and high-powered compound setups (please note: we cannot accommodate crossbows).
Don't have a bow? No problem! We can advise you and set you up with club gear until you're ready to buy your own.
Age Limit: For safety reasons, all members must be 10 years or older
From Casual Fun to World Champions
We operate under strict national and international safety frameworks, ensuring a safe and consistent environment for everyone. Whether you just want a fun weekend hobby or you want to train alongside our National and World Champion members to get serious, KCAC has you covered.
Our Location
In 2021, we relocated from Reikiorangi to our new home at 128 Mahaki Road, Nikau Valley. Building out our dream courses is a massive, ongoing adventure, and we'd love for you to be a part of it!
